MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Two men were arrested after the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says they were caught breaking into semi trailers, and later lead deputies on a chase.

Police say they were called to the Pilot Travel Center, located in the 1000 block of Nadeau Road, around 2:00 a.m. Friday on reports of intruders breaking into the semi trailers.

A witness told police the intruders broke into his empty semi trailer and took off in a black Ford SUV. Deputies later found the vehicle parked at the Travel Center of America, located in the 1000 block of North Dixie Highway.

Police say the men fled on foot when approached. One suspect, a 52-year-old Brownstown man, was apprehended quickly, deputies say. A canine unit had to be called in to find the second suspect, a 51-year-old Detroit man who fled into the woods, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Both men are being charged with breaking and entering. The man that fled into the woods is being charged with resisting arrest and opposing a police officer.
