Two arrested following armed robbery in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Police told CBS 3 that two people were arrested following an armed robbery that took place not far from the Cumberland Farms on Carew Street.

They said a Springfield man was attacked shortly after midnight, but he was able to give descriptions of the suspects to officers.

A little while later, police arrested a juvenile and an adult.

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported the adult as 45-year-old Jose Hernandez.

Both the adult and juvenile are due in court on Monday.

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center and treated for bruising and lacerations to his face.
