Fist-fight breaks out between Jonesboro officer and suspect

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  One person was arrested Saturday after shots were fired in Jonesboro.

Soon after Jonesboro police began questioning two of the suspects on Haltom St., a fist-fight broke out between one of the officers on scene and one of the suspects.

JPD was investigating reports of witnesses hearing gunshots on Haltom St. when an officer began questioning Preston Rowe. In the questioning, "a loud clank" was heard. The officer asked Rowe if he dropped a weapon on the pavement. That's when Rowe tried to run and a fight began.

Rowe is also charged with resisting arrest, carrying a weapon, and tampering with evidence.

It isn't clear who fired the weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
