Car crashes into Jonesboro City Hall, 3 injured

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- A crash involving three vehicles closed down Church Street at Huntington Avenue Monday shortly before 3p.m.

According to a news release,  Paul Gill, 61, was driving a Chevrolet truck north on Church street and began two slow down for a pedestrian. He was then rear-ended by a Ford Taurus driven by, Stephen Bates, 29.

After hitting Gill's truck, Bates went off the road and hit a light pole and brick post at the Jonesboro City Hall building.

Bates' three-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the accident. Both Bates and his daughter are listed in good condition, according to police.

According to Jonesboro police, Bates hit a car at Jackson and Church before being involved in the crash at city hall.

There is no word  Bates will face charges.
