Prosecutors won't charge man accused of shooting in self-defense

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Randolph County man accused of shooting another man in self-defense will not face charges, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutor Attorney Henry Boyce told Region 8 News, prosecutors will not charge Matthew Odom, 33, for shooting Timothy King, 38, after they found the action motivated by self-defense.

Randolph County deputies were called out to Rock Glade Trail shortly before 7 a.m. after Odom told police he shot King in the throat after King made several threats to kill Odom and his family.

King was taken to The MED in Memphis at the time of the incident but was released.
