Dollar General employee accused of stealing more than $2,000 from store

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A woman is in jail accused of swindling her employer in south Nashville out of a lot of money.

Dollar General employee Victoria Watkins has been arrested for allegedly stealing $2,500 in cash and merchandise from the store on Lafayette Street.

Watkins was charged after a regional manager made the discovery.

Police say Watkins admitted she made fake refunds and passed merchandise to friends without making them pay.

Theft of more than $1,000 is a felony.

Dollar General is pressing charges.
