CLEVELAND, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A big heroin trafficking ring has been busted in the Cleveland area, resulting in 32 people facing criminal charges.

Three Cleveland men – Derek A. Warner, 20, Willie James Lavel Dunning, 29, and Nassor M. Williams, 28 – have been indicted in federal court multiple counts of distribution of heroin. Warner and Dunning also face charges of being felons in possession of firearms.

Another 29 suspects have been indicted on trafficking-related charges in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Some of the suspects, including some still at large, are affiliated with the Lakeshore Boyz street gang, according to officials. Officials say they operated mostly on Cleveland's far northeast side and in Euclid.

Many of the sales targeted took place within 1,000 feet of a school, which adds to the severity of the charges.

In a release from the Cleveland Division of the FBI, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said: "These are the retailers of death and destruction to neighborhoods and families. Everyone will be better off with them in prison."
