SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A Bristol, CT woman found with a murder weapon in her car with alleged ties to former Patriot player Aaron Hernandez is headed back to court Friday.

State police sources say 19-year-old Jailene Diaz-Ramos ended up in possession of a Boston murder weapon reportedly tied to the former Patriots star.

It's a story CBS 3 was first to break.

Diaz-Ramos will be back in front of a Springfield judge Friday to continue answering to weapons charges after state police say they found an unlicensed .38 caliber revolver stowed away in her trunk.

Police records go onto show Diaz-Ramos' claim that the gun belongs to a football playing friend known as "Chicago."

CBS 3 traveled to her Bristol home back in August where her mom would only tell us "Chicago" was someone who grew up in the neighborhood and she had no idea how her daughter could be connected to Hernandez.

A former associate of Hernandez, Alexander Bradley, allegedly told investigators that he and Hernandez were at a Boston club before two men were murdered back in July 2012.

Bradley has since testified before a grand jury in Boston regarding those killings and is now suing Hernandez for allegedly shooting him in the face outside a Miami strip club.

Now as Diaz-Ramos prepares to head to court again, Hernandez sits in prison awaiting the murder trial for the death of Odin Lloyd.

Under Massachusetts law, anyone convicted of carrying an unlicensed gun could face a minimum one year prison sentence.

CBS 3 Springfield will be inside the courtroom Friday and will have the latest on this story on CBS 3 Springfield news first at 4.
