LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A car crash in Lawrence County leads investigators to meth and the arrest of a Jonesboro woman.

According to Sheriff Jody Dotson, Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies responded to the report of an accident at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 91 and 230 Wednesday afternoon. Deputies said they found the driver who was in a "highly intoxicated state".

The driver later identified as Keelie Wuelling, 21, of Jonesboro went off the road and hit an embankment, the sheriff said.

When deputies attempted to interview Wuelling, officers said she couldn't stand up or even sit up. An ambulance was called to the scene to check for injuries to Wuelling. The sheriff said she told medics she did not want to go to the hospital.

Wuelling was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

A deputy searched the car after it was pulled from the ditch and found a pill bottle containing what appeared to be meth in Wuelling's purse. The deputy tested the substance and it was confirmed to be meth.

Wuelling was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently in jail awaiting a bond hearing.
