Jonesboro woman arrested on drug charges after wrecking car

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR(KAIT) – A car crash in Lawrence County leads investigators to meth and the arrest of a Jonesboro woman.

According toSheriff Jody Dotson, Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies responded to the reportof an accident at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 91 and 230 Wednesdayafternoon. Deputies said they found the driver who was in a "highly intoxicatedstate".

The driver lateridentified as Keelie Wuelling, 21, of Jonesboro went off the road and hit anembankment, the sheriff said.

When deputies attemptedto interview Wuelling, officers said she couldn't stand up or even sit up. Anambulance was called to the scene to check for injuries to Wuelling. Thesheriff said she told medics she did not want to go to the hospital.

Wuelling wasarrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

A deputy searchedthe car after it was pulled from the ditch and found a pill bottle containingwhat appeared to be meth in Wuelling's purse. The deputy tested the substanceand it was confirmed to be meth.

Wuelling wascharged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, possessionof meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently in jail awaitinga bond hearing.
