Crash knocks down pole at Caraway and Matthews, traffic delayed

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A two vehicle crash in Jonesboro causes traffic back up.

According to Jonesboro police, the crash involved a red Nissan and a silver Pontiac as both were heading west on Matthews around 11:20 Thursday morning.

Police say the Nissan was attempting to change lanes when it clipped the Pontiac, sending it spinning. The Nissan then hit a power pole near the 2200 block of E. Matthews.

Both drivers received minor injuries.

Traffic was delayed from the intersection of Matthews and Caraway to Marion Berry Parkway as utility crews cleaned up the wires from the downed power pole.
