SENECA COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A total of 10 power lines were down or broken in Seneca County after strong winds blew through Thursday night.

The poles were reportedly down outside a jail located on east U.S. Route 224 at south state Route 100. They reportedly fell early this morning around 12:25.

Around 1,500 Seneca County residents lost power. American Electric Power (AEP) crews spent Friday restoring power. Residents say they are grateful their homes were not damaged.

"I am grateful; it seems like this was the main part ofthe area that it hit," said Patti Bloom, a Tiffin resident. "Just seeing this with the big poles down, you know, that's scary."

Officials say while there is some minimal structural damage throughout the county, most of the area escaped disaster.

"We had a mobile home that was blown off its foundationand some barns that came down, different things like that," said Daniel Stahl, EMA director for Seneca County.
