WBC Basketball Eagles exceed triple-digits in win against CRC Pioneers

From Williams Baptist College

The fast-paced tempo of the Eagle's first regular season game was too much for the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College to overcome, as Williams Baptist College out-paced CRC 111-86.  The contest was Tuesday night at Walnut Ridge.

As a team, Williams forced a remarkable 30 turnovers and out-rebounded CRC 41-32 on the night. The Eagles shot 53% overall from the floor, including a 10-19 night from behind the arc, and sank 31 free-throws.

Individually, WBC had five players in double digits, led by James McClain's 33-point performance. McClain went 10-14 from the field, including a 3-5 effort from behind the three-point line.  McClain scored 26 of his 33 points in the first half, alone. Kevin Charles added 14 points and Kam Ashabranner, Chris Price and Jeff Graham scored 13 points, respectively for Williams.

The next game for WBC is a matchup against Central Baptist College on Saturday, November 2nd. The match is part of the college's Homecoming/Parents' Day festivities, and the homecoming court will be honored during halftime of the game. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the school's Southerland-Mabee Center.
