WBC Eagles Basketball soaring fast into upcoming season

From Williams Baptist College

The Williams Baptist College men's basketball team is coming off one of its most successful seasons in years. A season that saw the Eagles finish a 19-12 record overall, with a 9-7 mark in American Midwest Conference Play.

Williams will have a fresh look to its roster this season, adding thirteen new players along with two returners. The influx of new talent includes fourteen team members who have already played at the college level.

Head Coach Josh Austin is entering his third season at WBC. "We are very excited this year," said Austin.  "We have a brand new team and a good group of guys that have bonded very quickly. Our focus is on getting better one day at a time and the wins and losses will take care of themselves. This is an exciting time for Williams basketball."

The Eagles opened up their season with a home contest against Crowley's Ridge College on Tuesday. Williams came away with a 111-86 victory against the Pioneers.

The next contest for the WBC men's basketball team is scheduled for November 2nd against Central Baptist College. The game will start at 3 p.m. in the Southerland-Mabee Center on WBC's campus. This game is also homecoming for the Eagles squad.
