RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The driver of an SUV now faces charges after a crash that closed all lanes of Interstate 95 south Monday morning.

Thirty-year-old Trent Davis of Midlothian remains at VCU Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. He has been charged with reckless driving and for driving on a revoked license in the crash.

Police say Davis ran off the right side of the road on I-95 south near the Maury Street exit around 10 a.m. Monday. His SUV struck a pickup truck that was part of a temporary work zone set up by a VDOT contractor, according to State Police.

The driver of the vehicle, Brandon Davis, was taken to VCU Medical Center with minor injuries.

Traffic was backed up as much as three miles at one point, but the situation has since cleared. The crash is still under investigation.
