Man with parole violation found in backyard, faces drug charges

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police searching for a man with a parole violation find him in his backyard.

According to a Jonesboro police report, an officer was looking for Alvin Lynn Baker, 52, on the 200 block of Bridge Street for a parole violation.

Baker was found in the backyard of a house and was arrested. After searching him, the officer found a metal pipe used for smoking crack cocaine hidden in a cigarette package. He also found two baggies with residue from suspected narcotics.

At the Craighead County Detention Center, Baker told police he has smoked drugs for the past thirty years and admitted the pipe was his.

Baker was charged with felony of possession of drug paraphernalia and parole violation. He now awaits a bond hearing.
