Red Cross shelter closed in Caraway

CARAWAY, AR (KAIT) – The American Red Cross shelter in Caraway has been closed.

The announcement came in a news release from Red Cross officials on Tuesday.

The shelter had been open for residents in need of a place to stay after the Halloween EF-1 tornado. The shelter also served as a service center providing clean up supplies and meals.

According to the news release, over 3,200 meals and over 2,200 snacks were provided to residents during the response and clean up.

The Northeast Arkansas Chapter of the Red Cross were also joined by chapters from Memphis and Cape Girardeau.
