TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Members of the University of Toledo's Pi Beta Phi undergrad chapter say one of their own stole thousands of dollars from them.

Two sorority officials filed a police report accusing a previous advisor of embezzling more than $13,000 from the sorority. The report does not name the suspect, but it says a previous advisor forged signatures of other organizations.

The report also says that when confronted, the advisor admitted to headquarters that she did withdraw money. She claimed to have donated the money to five charities, and that she forged letters with the names of those charities.

The sorority headquarters issued the following statement:

"Pi Beta Phi can confirm its University of Toledo chapter filed a police report today regarding the authenticity of some of its financial records…We cannot comment on the specifics of the situation as the investigation is pending and will be handled by the appropriate authorities."
