Jonesboro's mayoral candidates include construction company owner Paul Bednar, security guard Gregory Cowles, Jonesboro police sergeant Doug Formon, Jonesboro Fire Chief Butch Herring,  business owners Travis Moore and Dan Pierce, and registered nurse Kevin Rhodes.  These seven men hope to succeed outgoing veteran Mayor Hubert Brodell, who has led the city since 1987.  Brodell will retire when his term ends on December 31.

Tonight's forum begins at 7 p.m. Co-sponsors include the Jonesboro League of Women Voters, Beacons & Bridges, the Business & Professional Women's Association, ASU Student Government Association, and the ASU Political Science Department.  The event will be video-taped by KAIT and will air Sunday at noon on KAIT.
