WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -  Members of the New Hanover County Board of Education met with administrators from UNCW to discuss issues facing the future of public education Thursday evening.

THe group said that one of the main concerns facing today's educators attracting more young students to the teaching profession.

They additionally spoke about recruitment efforts and how the university will work to bring more students into it's education program.

Donyell Roseboro, a UNCW school administrator, said that being a teacher can be a very rewarding profession.

"You want to be a teacher because you can inspire somebody else to do that.  You can see that light shine.  You can see that child who's been decimated by some sort of trauma in his or her life actually begin to overcome that and believe in himself or herself," said Roseboro.
