Police: dispute over shirt leads to brother's arrest

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – You always need to make sure your siblings are okay with you borrowing their clothes. One Jonesboro teen didn't, and now his brother is spending time in jail because of it.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, two officers were called out to the 3400-block of Sun Avenue at 11:57 on Saturday, where one brother had pulled a knife on the other.

The 17-year-old victim said that his 16-year-old brother got upset because he was wearing his shirt, and grabbed a 12 inch butcher knife. In the police report, an officer said that the suspect told his brother that "he was not afraid to kill somebody."

The boys' father then took the knife from the suspect, when he "had the knife over his head" and laid it on the kitchen table.

Police found the suspect in the upstairs shower, and arrested him on a felony charge for aggravated assault on a family or household member.

He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
