JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Thefamily of Staff Sergeant Paul Brooks hosted the third annual Fallen Soldierblood drive on Saturday at the Rock of Northeast Arkansas Life Center.
Brooks' family partneredwith the American Red Cross for the event.
His sisters said that theydo this blood drive to keep both his and other soldiers' memories alive.
Brooks was killed inaction in 2009, while serving a second tour of duty in Iraq.
"These people are fightingfor us. They are not just individuals or people who need a job, or they're cominghome to see their family," said Brooks. "These people are doing what keeps usalive and safe and free."
The Red Cross hascollected 138 pints of blood during the two previous drives. Their goal forthis year is 75 pints.
