POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) – While confronting a man for shoplifting, Pocahontas police discovered methamphetamine in his possession.

According to the Pocahontas Police Department, officers were called to Walmart concerning a shoplifter Monday. As officers were investigating the first suspect, a second suspect was caught by Walmart management.

Michael Addington, 35, was identified as the second shoplifter. Officers arrested Addington for the crime. During the pat down, police said they discovered 30 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket. Police said it appeared to be packaged for delivery and that Addington had several hundred dollars on him.

He is being held at the Randolph County Jail and is expected to have a bond hearing Wednesday.
