CLEBURNE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – The search for a Cleburne County fugitive came to an end in White County and other arrests were made along the way.

According to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, deputies were searched for Gerald Shane Baugh, 24, of Pangburn in May while investigating a home burglary on McJester Road. Baugh was found at a home on the same road, but managed to escape deputies.

On Nov. 6 investigators discovered Baugh was staying somewhere near Judsonia. Authorities went to the home of Baugh's mother, Patricia Newman, the next day.

Newman, 48, and Anthony Miles, 47, of Judsonia were arrested for possession of meth, drug paraphernalia, firearms and maintaining a drug premises. Newman's bond was set at $25,000 while Miles had a bond set a $10,000. Both were taken to the White County Jail.

Further investigation led officers to a motel in Bald Knob where Baugh and Jacob James were arrested after attempting to flee officers.

Investigators said Baugh had about 71 grams of meth, 11 grams of marijuana, a semi automatic pistol and $600 on him when he was arrested. James, 23, of Heber Springs was found to have meth on him as well.

James was taken to the White County Jail on felony drug charges and bond was set at $25,000.
