Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles basketball team defeated Blue
Mountain College by a final score of 81-55 on Saturday in Walnut Ridge.
Williams used key shooting, timely possessions and physicality on the boards in the first half to build a 37-24 lead.
The Lady Eagles continued their physical style of play in the second frame, putting the game out of reach for the Lady Toppers.
out-rebounded BMC 46-37 and also out-shot the Toppers from the field,
with Williams hitting 27-of-56 for 48 percent and Blue Mountain hitting
17-of-56 for 30 percent.
As in its first contest, Williams had thirteen different players post
points on the scoreboard.
Jasmine Ford led the team with 14 points. Cheyenne Childers contributed
with 13 points and Sharonda Brabson added 12 points. Michaela Thompson
with 11 rebounds in the contest.
Williams is now 2-0 on the season. Its next scheduled match is against Philander-Smith College on November 12th. The tip-off is scheduled
for 5:30 p.m. in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
