Mike Davis a semifinalist for Doak Award

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The accolades continue to come for South Carolina sophomore running back Mike Davis as he's been named as a semifinalist for the Doak Award, an award for the nation's top rusher.

Davis, of course, has been one of the biggest surprises in the SEC this year, leading the conference in rushing yards at 117.6 yards per game.

Not bad for a guy who quietly sat in Marcus Lattimore and Kenny Miles' giant shadows last year.

Only one other SEC back has been named a semifinalist: Auburn's Tre Mason.

The list of 10 semifinalists will be whittled down to just three finalists, and the winner will be announced Dec. 12 on ESPN.
