WBC Volleyball completes successful season

The Williams Baptist College volleyball team ended its season in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference Tournament with a loss against Missouri Baptist (14-25, 11-25, 21-25).  The game was played in St. Louis on Tuesday evening.
Madison Laubach led the Eagles attack with 10 kills and Jameea Ward added 5 kills. Makenna Wiedower contributed with 16 assists to pace the offense. Shelby Upshaw led the defense with 11 digs and Jessica Baugh finished with 9 digs. Ward posted 5 blocks and Bailey Layman assisted with 3 blocks for Williams.
In six of the last seven seasons, including three straight, WBC has reached the 20-win pinnacle.
The match was Eric Newell's final game as the head coach of the Lady Eagles volleyball team. He ends his volleyball coaching career with 165 wins, ranking first in school history.
Newell will remain head softball coach at Williams.
