Posted: Updated:

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - A Hopkins County woman is facing charges after authorities say she refused to leave her porch after a fire broke out.  71-year-old Freda Stanley is charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.  Sheriff's deputies say Stanley hindered the job of firefighters when a fire broke out in her White Plains home.  Deputies say Stanley smelled of alcohol and was trying to fight past firemen and would not leave the scene.
