Traffic violation lands man with possession of cocaine in jail

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – A Forrest City man was found with cocaine and firearms after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

On Monday, Officer Carnell Jacobs stopped a car for a traffic violation, and found a Bersa .380 caliber handgun on one of the passengers.

Officer Jacobs also found 26 small baggies of crack cocaine and 4 small baggies containing powder cocaine.

The 22 year old passenger, John Jones, was arrested for possession of a firearm by certain person, possession of cocaine with purpose to deliver, proximity to certain facilities, and obstructing government operations.

Police Chief E. P. Reynolds said he is proud of this police work. "I would like to commend Officer Jacobs for his hard work and dedication in our efforts to deter narcotic activity in Forrest City, and taking another gun off the street," said Reynolds.
