A few towns in our Tri-State area were hit hard by the severe weather that moved through on Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service confirms there is widespread damage countywide in Morganfield and Union County.

They say numerous trees are down and widespread damage to buildings.

Reports say there is house damage on Highway 669. Those reports say a mobile home has been demolished, with other structure damage reported near Waverly.

The NWS says garage and outbuildings have been destroyed along Highway 760.

Another hard hit area was Edwards County in Illinois. The EMA and sheriff's office say there is moderate damage. We're told one home on Illinois Route 130 and 1200 North has been damaged.

A Friendsville woman is in the hospital, after she was hurt during the severe weather. Mary Broster's mobile home was blown across the street and into another house.

Officials say Broster was found in a ditch underneath the rubble. Both her and her cat survived, but she's now awaiting surgery at Deaconess Hospital.

The owners of the other house were not home at the time.

Family and friends are now trying to sort through the damage to see what if anything they can salvage.

The Madisonville Police Department say they are assisting the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office with search/rescue/damage assessment on the south end of Hopkins County. The areas of the cities of Nortonville and White Plains have sustained damage from a possible tornado.

Washington in Daviess County, Indiana was hit hard by the severe storms as well. The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says there have been no reported injuries.

We're told that much of the town is without power. There are several people without places to stay and the Red Cross has set up in Assembly of God on South Meridian Street to help them out.

Officials say that much of the damage happened near the west side of Washington. We're told that Etienne Farmers Market is completely destroyed.
