Sheriff: Man told deputies he stole truck because he was homeless

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – On Sunday, A Jordan manwas arrested after he ran out of gas with a stolen travel trailer hooked up tohis truck.

According to Baxter County Sheriff JohnMontgomery, a travel trailer was stolen from a storage building on Highway 62in Mountain Home.

At 2 p.m., the owner's son told deputies he sawthe stolen trailer at the Lowe's in Mountain Home. After he was arrested,Travis Armistead, 30, told deputies he stole the trailer because he did nothave anywhere to live or stay.

Armistead was charged with a felony of theft ofproperty. He was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and had a bond setat $10,000.

He is set to appear in court on November 21.
