Woman caught on camera outrunning police with kids offers parenting advice

(WMC-TV) – Video uncovered Tuesday shows Memphis mother Orianna Farrell rapping inside her home, one year before leading New Mexico police on a chase with her kids in the van.

"Sovereign, He is King, most high El Shaddai, author of your journey, maker of mine," she sang in the video posted to YouTube.

Farrell is shown shuffling through the house, rapping about God with some of her children, who are seen standing, and later dancing, in the kitchen.

At one point, Farrell was a student at Harding School of Theology in Memphis. Classmates say she is a Godly woman.

In the music video, Farrell also sings about her preference for expensive water, like Fuji and Perrier.

Other videos Action News 5 discovered Tuesday show Farrell giving parental advice, through her review of the book "Letters to a Single Parent."

Farrell made national headlines earlier this week after police dash cam video was released, showing the high speed chase that resulted in police officers firing three gunshots at her vehicle.

In late October, Farrell and her five home-schooled children went to New Mexico on an educational trip. She was pulled over for speeding, but then drove away from officers twice. Her children were still inside the car with her.

The video rolled as she got into a fight with officers after reportedly refusing to cooperate.

At one point, her 14-year-old son jumped out of the van and approached the officer. The officer says the teen swung at him.

Farrell and her son were eventually arrested. She is now out of jail on bond, awaiting further court proceedings.
