Stacy and Roberts earn AMC honors for WBC Lady Eagles Soccer

From Williams Baptist College

The American Midwest Conference announced their annual awards on Thursday evening, and Williams Baptist College had two Lady Eagles soccer players, Marlo Stacy and Jenifer Roberts, recognized in the release.
Stacy was voted as an Honorable Mention All-Conference player for the 2013 season.  Stacy scored a team high six goals on 26 shots.  The freshman from Greenbrier, Ark., started all 16 games in the WBC midfield.
"Marlo brings a great attitude to the field each day at practice and for every game.  She battled injuries early in the year but overcame them to have a great season.  She was one of, if not the best freshman in the conference," said Head Coach Shane Stolz.
Roberts was honored as an Academic All-Conference student-athlete.  The junior defender from Jonesboro, Ark., played every minute of the season for Williams.
The criteria for this reward requires the recipient to be at the intuition for at least one year and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
"It is a remarkable achievement for Jenifer. Not only was she a standout performer on the field, but she maintains a 4.0 G.P.A.  She is a girl that all student-athletes should look up to and try to model themselves after," added Stolz.
Williams ended its first season with a 1-14-1 season record.
"The last two games of the season show how far we have come as a team.  We have a two game unbeaten streak and will look to build on that in recruiting and in 2014," concluded Stolz.
