Eight people were killed when severe weather hit the Midwest Sunday in Illinois and Minnesota.

Authorities confirm three people have died after a possible tornado hit Brookport. 

Illinois State Police Trooper Joey Watson says the three victims in Brookport were 58-year-old Kathy George, 56-year-old Robert Harmon, and 63-year-old Scholitta Burrus all of Brookport.

Two of the victims lived along Unionville Road. The other lives in the city limits of Brookport.

Kathy George

Funeral services for Kathy George will be Saturday November 23 at 1 p.m. at the Ninth Street Church of Christ. The church is located at 715 South 9th Street in Paducah. Visitation will be Friday, November 22 at Ninth Street Church of Christ from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Robert Oakley Harmon

Funeral services for Robert Oakley Harmon will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home with Bro. David LeNeave will officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamletsburg Cemetery. Harmon is survied by a son and daughter and several siblings.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home.

Scholitta Burrus

Funeral services for Scholitta Burrus will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Brookport Church of God (intersection of 4th & George Streets) with Rev. Charles Tate and Pastor Jeremy Beggs officiating. Interment will follow in Otterbien Cemetery in Pope County.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday at the Brookport Church of God.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.

Washington, IL

Officials confirmed that one person died in the central Illinois community of Washington, where a tornado destroyed several blocks of houses. The Tazewell County Coroner's office on Monday said 51-year-old Steve Neubauer was found dead near his home.

New Minden, IL

A brother and sister were killed in Washington County, Illinois in a tornado.

Joseph R. Hoy, 80, of New Minden was pronounced dead at the scene of his farm at 14877 Eagle Road at 1:13 p.m. by Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger. Hoy's sister, Frances J. Hoy, 78, of the same address was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Washington County Hospital.

The farm was completely destroyed and Mr. Hoy appeared to have died instantly from massive trauma, according to the Washington County coroner. He was located in a farm field about 100 yards east of his home.

Frances' death was also from injuries sustained in the tornado.

Michigan

Officials have confirmed two storm-related deaths in Michigan, raising to eight the toll from the heavy rain, powerful winds and tornadoes that formed across the region.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department says 59-year-old Philip Daniel Smith of Perry in central Michigan was found dead and entangled in high-voltage power wires after going outside late Sunday to investigate a noise.

Also in central Michigan, Jackson County Sheriff Steven Rand says 21-year-old Ryan Allan Rickman of Leslie died when his vehicle was crushed by a fallen tree Sunday evening.
