911 service restored in several Missouri counties

CALDWELL COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

Several counties in northwest Missouri have been restored with 911 service.

A fiber optic line was cut at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday which left five counties and one city without 911 calls and long distance calls.

Andrews, Caldwell, Clinton, DeKalb, Carroll counties and the town of Cameron were all currently experiencing service interruption.

Authorities said that service was restored about 10:30 p.m.

Officials believe the fiber line was cut somewhere between Osbourne and Stewartsville.

Some businesses in Plattsburgh had to close early Tuesday because they were unable to run their credit and debit cards because of the service interruption.

Deputies said they were also unable to run warrants or license plates.

This was the second time this year that something similar has happened.
