Police: Truck ran red light in accident on Hilltop

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Traffic ran slow Wednesday afternoon on the intersection of Johnson and Highway 351 after an accident flipped a truck upside down.

Officer Ross with the Jonesboro Police Department told Region 8 News, at shortly before 3:30 p.m. a Dodge pickup truck driven by David Ericson of Jonesboro was traveling on Highway 351.

In a news release, Jonesboro police said Ericson began crossing Highway 49 to get into the Liberty Bank parking lot. While crossing, the Dodge truck was hit on its passenger side by a GMC pickup truck driven by Brenda Rose of Jonesboro who witnesses said ran a red light.

Officer Ross said they believe the truck rolled over at least one and a half times, landing upside down on the grass in front of Liberty Bank.

The drivers from each truck were taken to St. Bernards with non-life threatening injuries.
