Thanksgiving meal offered to anyone hungry or homeless

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Region 8 residents began working Friday to makethis Thanksgiving special for everyone.

Food has begun moving tokitchens in area churches to be cooked Thanksgiving day.

A community Thanksgiving mealwill be prepared for anyone who is hungry, homeless or lonely.

The annual event began asa collaborative effort between the First Baptist and First United MethodistChurches.

Now, around eight churcheswork on Wednesday to prepare Thursday's feast.

"People who work in thisthing get a whole lot more out of it than the people who come and take themeal," said Chairman Jim Grisham. "It's just a good feeling when you get homein the afternoon, that you've helped somebody."

They'll begin servingpeople at St. Bernards Auditorium at 11 a.m.

They hope to begin sendingout the delivery meals at 10:30 a.m.
