Bang for Your Buck: Finding the best Black Friday deals

(WMC-TV) – It's Thanksgiving week and while many of us are thinking about turkey and football a great many are also thinking about shopping on Black Friday!

Deals are coming in earlier and they are plenty out there; with that in mind here's the top 5 shopping tips to score the best deal this Black Friday and get more Bang for your Buck.

1. Be prepared before you go and study the ads before Black Friday shopping.

Websites like bfads.net, blackfriday.infotheblackfriday.com, and gottadeal.com will help you find the best deal. Some sites let you filter your searches by product and categories.

2. Shop online first.

Why leave the family and your comfy couch if you don't really have to?  Check to see if the retailer is offering the same-or even better-deals on its website and sign up for e-mail alerts!

3. Get shopping apps.

Before you head out make sure your smart phone is charged and loaded with a few key comparison-shopping apps, such as ShopSavvy, ShopKick, and RedLaser. They will let you see special deals and compare prices while you're in the store.

4. Create a budget-and stick to it.

Decide ahead of time how much you want to spend, and resist impulse buying in the store.

5. See if you can get a price-match guarantee.

Often, stores say they're suspending them during the Black Friday weekend, but you should ask for one anyway. Check the store's return and exchange policies to make sure they aren't different for a Black Friday special. Sometimes, Black Friday sales are final and can't be returned.

This list is an effort to make your Black Friday shopping less stressful and more enjoyable!
