BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

There is good news for little Zoie, the dog who suffered serious burns earlier this month. She has been placed in her forever home.

The 8-month-old puppy suffered extreme burns after a 9-year-old boy set her bedding on fire. The employees at Companion Animal Alliance received numerous calls from people wanting to adopt the adorable puppy.

In the end, Zoie was matched with a new owner who says she is looking forward to taking really good care of her.

"I can't wait to sit and hold her and rock her and spoil her rotten. She is going to think that she is a human baby," said Cissy Edwards.

Be sure to watch the new 6:30 show on WBXH tonight. Zoie and her new owner are expected to stop by the studio for a visit!
