Georgia can establish itself as a top-tier beast if it gets by South Carolina this weekend - and USC would drop to 0-2 in the league with a loss. Tennessee travels to Oklahoma, where Coach Bob Stoops doesn't believe the SEC is all-powerful.

ATHENS, GA (RNN) – The Georgia Bulldogs broke a four-game losing streak with a 71-53 victory over the Appalachian State Mountaineers (1-5) Friday.

The win was just the second victory for the 2-4 Georgia Bulldogs and their first home victory of the 2013-14 season.

Despite 20 points from App. State's forward Tevin Baskin, the Dawgs held firm, with the Mountaineers only completing four-of-18 in 3-pointers and shooting a meager 32.7 percent from the floor.

Both guards Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann scored 14 points for Georgia.

Georgia's four-game losing streak included losses to Georgia Tech, Davidson, Temple and Nebraska.

The Dawgs will host the Chattanooga Mocs on Monday.
