MASSAC COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Massac County Emergency Management Agency is putting out a new call for volunteers to help with clean up in Brookport and areas affected by the tornado.

Public volunteers are now being requested for Wednesday, December 4 and Thursday, December 5. EMA said Friday is a day they expect inclement weather, so no work is planned for Friday. If weather permits volunteers will again be accepted Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8.

Those interested should meet at the Brookport City Council Chambers as follows: Wednesday 8:30 a.m. until 1p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and no work Friday. Work resumes again Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.

EMA said please, if you have a leaf or yard rake bring those tools along. Also dress accordingly for cold and damp weather. Use your best judgment when using this work schedule as far as how the weather will be on any of those work periods.

If you have any questions about volunteer work, you can contact Pastor Jeff at 618-889-2641.
