Tyler police investigate possible armed robbery

From the Tyler Police Department:

On December 6, 2013, at about 6:00 P.M., Tyler Police received a 911 call from 914 W. Front, Atlas Credit Company, stating that a robbery had occurred.

Employees said that an unknown black male about 5'08" to 5'11" and 160 to 180 pounds approached them demanding money.  The suspect was wearing a black ski mask covering his face, a black sweater, and blue jeans and led them to believe that he had a weapon.

The employees gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash.  The suspect fled from the back of the building running south.  No one was harmed during the robbery.

The case is still under investigation by the Tyler Police Department.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.

In April, Williams Baptist cross country runner Alex Van Herpen competed in the prestigious Boston Marathon. An incredible feat. Learning about his path to get there, it stopped me in my tracks. Five years ago Alex was bound to a wheelchair. in January of 2011, he was diagnosed with strep throat, the flu and mono all within a two week period. For five months Alex was bound to a wheel chair. One day he just got up and walked. Medical experts had no explanation for any of it.  ...
