MONETTE, AR (KAIT) - Roughly 1,000 residents were without power Friday in Eastern Craighead County. Entergy crews worked throughout the day to restore power to residents in Monette, Caraway and Black Oak while one local restaurant worked to restore their energy after working out in the element.

"We were coming back whether the power was on or not," Barbara Carr with B&B restaurant in Monette told Region 8 News.

The restaurant opened for breakfast Friday morning before the winter weather knocked out their power around 8:30.

Carr said as they were headed to hook up a generator to the building, they got a call from linemen with Entergy with some good news.

"He said 'your power is going to be on in about 30 minutes,'" Carr said. "He said 'y'all gonna be open?' And I said if you're eating, we're cooking!'"

Terry Edwards, a senior lineman with Entergy, was one of the men who stopped to get a hot meal before going back out to restore power to Entergy customers.

"The company and the public itself have been real good about taking care of us," Edwards said.

He told Region 8 News that though it's tough to work out in the cold, sleet and snow, it's just part of the job.

"Most of us, we've been through this before. We're used to it...doesn't mean we like it! But we're used to it," Edwards said. "We're gonna work safely, we're gonna watch out for each other and for the public."

"Hey, if they're good enough to work out in this power for us, yeah, we'll be here!" Carr said. "Lord, we'd do it out of our house if we had to for them."
