From the Sun Belt Conference

Arkansas State Red Wolves
The Arkansas State women's basketball team took the previous week off to prepare for final exams on the campus of Arkansas State.

The Red Wolves recently traveled to Cancun, Mexico to participate in the Cancun Challenge Tournament over the Thanksgiving holiday where the squad went 0-3 but nearly pulled off an upset against Arizona State on the final day of competition.

Sophomore Aundrea Gamble was named to the All-Tournament team and currently ranks third in the Sun Belt in scoring with 17.5 points per game.

Arkansas State returns to action this week with a game at Wichita State Thursday, Dec. 12.

The Red Wolves will be looking to avenge a loss to the Shockers on their home court last season and end a three-game losing skid.

Following the matchup with Wichita State, A-State will return home Dec. 18 for a matchup with Tennessee Tech in its annual "Elementary Day" before traveling to Central Arkansas Dec. 21 for its final game before the Christmas holiday.
