Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights dazzles despite winter weather

One of the Tri-State's favorite winter traditions and most important fund-raising events, Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights to benefit Easter Seals, continues in Evansville's Garvin Park nightly through New Year's Day.

Unfortunately, the winter weather has negatively impacted attendance.  Admission fees, which fund therapy for local children and adults with disabilities, are currently running at least $24,000 behind last year's pace.  This means less financial support to provide therapy sessions for individuals who can't afford those life-changing services.

Hours are Sunday through Thursday 5-9 p.m., Friday through Saturday 5-10 p.m., and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 5-10 p.m.

Cost to drive through is just seven dollars for up to six people in one vehicle. Admission for vehicles with seven-to-14 people is $10, and admission for vehicles with 15 people or more is $25.

Horse-drawn carriage rides are available nightly (weather permitting) for $30, which includes admission.

Attendees are also asked to consider giving an extra donation to volunteers at the Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights welcome booth to help meet the additional need for therapy funding.

Community members can also help Easter Seals by purchasing advance tickets to give as stocking stuffers or enclose in greeting cards.  Individual tickets are available at any Evansville Ritzy's restaurant.
