MO woman dead after road grader tried to remove truck from icy road

ELIJAH, MO (KAIT) – A Howell County woman is dead after she was pinned against her own truck on an icy road by another vehicle that tried to move it.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joy Spencer, 54, of Caulfield died as a result of the incident.

Troopers state her disabled Chevrolet pickup was stuck Thursday afternoon on County Road 578, one mile south of Elijah. A road grader attempted to get the truck off the ice, but slid out of control.

The crash report states Spencer was outside when the road grader pinned her between the two vehicles.

Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene.
