Woman wanders by empty house, arrested on drug charges

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Jonesboro woman was arrested Friday oncharges related to possession of methamphetamine.

The Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to the 6600-block ofWooded Acres Cove at around 5 a.m. when a resident called and said that therewere people with flashlights prowling around a vacant house.

When Officer Ben Stone arrived on the scene there were threevehicles in the driveway along with a woman, Stephanie Poe. When Stone askedher what she was doing she said that she used to live at the house, which was foreclosed,and was picking up items that had been left outside.

Poe changed her story about who was there with her several times. Inthe police report, Officer Stone said that he noticed "Poe was very nervous andthat she could not sit still."

Police found her purse inside the truck she was driving. Poe wasasked if she had anything illegal inside the purse and she claimed she didn't.

When officers searched her purse, they found a glass pipe withwhite residue inside of it.

Poe then admitted she uses meth and was arrested.
While searching the rest of her truck officers found a hollowed out pen and adollar bill that both had white residue in them.

Poe was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center with felonycharges for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth. She washeld in lieu of a bond for a probable cause hearing.

According to court documents, she has been released.
