Alcohol Factors into Afternoon School Bus Accident in North Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR - Police say alcohol was a factor in an afternoon school bus accident that occured at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

The accident occured at the "Y" intersection of North Church and Main streets when a southbound car crossed the center line and collided with another car before then striking a northbound Jonesboro School District bus.  Police told K8 News the driver of the car was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Her identity has not yet been released by police.

The bus did have several students on board, but no one on the bus was hurt.  The driver of the car had minor injuries.
