Two people injured following 3-vehicle accident on HWY 63

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Two people were sent to the hospital following a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 63 Wednesday night.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, it happened around 6:45 p.m.

An officer on the scene told Region 8 News that a car pulled over after running out of gas. That's when a truck pulled over to help.

When the truck pulled back out on the highway, it was hit by another car. That car then caught fire.

Two people were taken to St. Bernards with unknown conditions.

As of 8:00 p.m., the north bound lane of Highway 63 at Commerce Drive was still closed. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
