JPD needs help IDing suspects in theft

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - 'Tis the season for giving but for some, 'tis also the season for taking.

Region 8 News recently told you about a string of home and vehicle break-ins across Jonesboro. One of those stolen debit cards and drivers licenses wound up in Tunica. Now, JPD hopes you can help ID the suspects.

According to Sgt. Cassie Brandon with JPD, the suspects made their way from Jonesboro South. Brandon said the first stop using a stolen debit card was in Trumann, then to West Memphis to Southland Greyhound Park and finally in to Harrah's in Tunica.

Brandon said surveillance video from both gaming parks show a woman using the same method of operation.

"Lady comes in, gets a cash advance at the window, using the stolen debit card." Brandon said in doing so, she netted $5,000.

We never see the woman's entire face but JPD hopes someone might recognize her.

"To me, she looks like she's trying to disguise herself," Brandon said.

Underneath a brown hat, the woman has short blonde hair. You can also see from the video that she's wearing a silver thumb ring on her right hand.

Police say they don't believe the woman is acting alone either, as when she walks into Southland, two men can be seen with her.

"I'm not sure if they're the ones that've been breaking into the vehicles but obviously they're using the cards and checks and those kinds of things from the people who were victims," Brandon explained.

Brandon said the sooner the better in getting an ID on these suspects as to avoid anyone else from becoming a victim.

If you think you know who is in that surveillance video, give Crimestoppers a call at 935-STOP.
